Libbie Reese is a partner at Alvarez, Thompson & Smoak, P.A. Libbie has focused her practice on complex civil litigation cases, involving personal injury, wrongful death and general insurance defense, with a focus on commercial transportation defense and commercial premises litigation.
Libbie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies with an emphasis on global security from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007. Thereafter she received her Juris Doctorate from Barry University-School of Law in Orlando in 2011.
Libbie’s initial practice areas following law school consisted of general litigation, mortgage foreclosure litigation, homeowner/condominium association foreclosure, and workers’ compensation insurance defense. She then spent several years as the H.R. Manager and In-House Counsel for an assisted living company before returning to litigation with Alvarez, Thompson & Smoak, P.A.
Libbie has extensive experience representing commercial carriers and a wide range of transportation litigation, to include catastrophic and complex multi-party collisions involving tractor-trailers, tow trucks, bus lines, and other commercial vehicles. She also has considerable experience representing shopping centers, restaurants, nightclubs, retail establishments and other premises owners in litigation arising from all aspects of premises liability.
Libbie has been a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Wisconsin Non-Resident Lawyers Section, as well as the Young Lawyer’s Divisions in both Florida and Wisconsin, and the Society for Human Resource Management. She is also a member of the State Bars of Florida and Wisconsin.
After more than a decade of living in Florida, Libbie considers herself a Floridian. Outside of the office, she enjoys cooking, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.
