Maxwell A. Kemp is an associate with Alvarez, Thompson, & Smoak, P.A. in their Tampa office. His practice is focused on complex civil litigation cases, involving personal injury, wrongful death and general insurance defense, with a focus on commercial transportation defense and commercial premises litigation.
Maxwell received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida. Thereafter, he remained in Gainesville and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Maxwell received a CALI Award in Foundations in Law. He was a member of the UF Honors College, as well as a player for the UF Hockey Team.
Before joining Alvarez, Thompson, & Smoak, P.A., Maxwell worked as a law clerk at a local personal injury firm where he represented Plaintiffs who were injured in automobile accidents and as a result of medical malpractice. He also clerked at a boutique full-service law firm while in law school, specializing in products liability and business litigation, as well as handling class action lawsuit defense.
Max was born and raised in Tampa and has resided in his hometown since he graduated from law school. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time playing adult-league hockey and honing his skills on the guitar.
